NPD TRAINING |

Nahant Officers participate in recent fire arms training at the Methuen Police Department's outside gun range.  All Nahant Police Officers must train and re-qualify once a year in fire arms usage. 

Training and qualification tests take place two over two days. Testing is done under a variety of scenarios both close range and moving in on a target from long range.

Pictured above is a running, shoot don't shoot scenario. Three targets are presented, one of which is in the act of surrendering. The other two are "suspects" that need to be neutralized.

Nahant Officers must also qualify in the use of shot guns that part of Nahant's weaponry.
